KT to Spend US$102 Mln on Cloud Computing Service for SMEs

Korean mobile phone and Internet operator KT announced on August 5, 2010 that the company is going to invest 120 billion Won (US$102 million; US$1=1182 Won) in could computing from August this year to 2011, according to the JoongAng Daily of Korea. KT said that the new cloud service, dubbed uCloud Pro, is estimated to save 60% to 90% of IT expenditure for small- and medium-sized enterprises. It is reported that users can access shared data and software stored on uCould Pro with a variety of devices, such as Smartphones, tablet PCs, and IPTV (Internet Protocol Television).
